Thoughts on a marathon cross country cycle ride

This month, our Director David Taylor, set off on a marathon 4-day, 388-mile trip across England to raise money for charity.

Setting off from his home in Tunbridge Wells, David stopped first at Milton Keynes before stay-overs in Burton-on-Trent and Preston. He then arrived at his destination in West Cumbria after burning some 17,500 calories and going up 22,000 ft worth of elevation.

In the process, he raised over £1,200 for Lymphoma Action, an organisation helping a number of individuals close to David.

Speaking about his trip, he said: "This was an amazing experience which gave me the chance to appreciate the stunning scenery we have in England. Whilst cycling through the middle of London and Manchester was a little scary, I loved going through the North Downs, the Peak District and the Lakes. But I could have done without 20% and even 25% gradients on the final day."
